The only child of the Galdorcraft noble family, Yfel spent the first few decades of her childhood under the tutelage of the greatest mages in the world, learning to harness her family's innate gift for magic, passed down through Galdorcraft women seemingly at random each generation. However, this power is both a blessing and curse, for every Galdorcraft who inherits the magic also becomes afflicted with sickness of the mind, eventually being driven insane by it. Many of them do great things with their spellcraft before losing themselves, yet it comes all the same. Knowing this inevitability, Yfel was locked away in a singular tower, deep within a forest whose location is only known by her mother and father; there, she spends nearly everyday researching magic of all kinds, religions, monsters and curses in an attempt to cure her family's plague, lest it be passed on in perpetuity.
